A leading global consulting firm investing in the development of future partners across multiple cohorts, with a clear focus on strengthening leadership capability at the highest level.

Situation

The firm identified top-performing managers and directors as part of its partner pipeline.

The challenge was clear: ensuring these leaders could operate at partner level - not just perform as high achievers.

Key gaps included limited self-awareness after years of consistent high performance, insufficient resilience and recovery in demanding environments, gaps in communication, influence, and executive presence, and readiness to build and defend partner-level business cases.

The risk: strong performers not fully prepared to succeed at partner level.

Approach

We designed a structured leadership journey focused on one objective: advancing leaders to perform at partner level.

The approach combined three elements. Data-driven insight - establishing a clear baseline through 360 feedback and resilience data. Leadership under pressure - strengthening awareness, resilience, and leadership presence in demanding situations. Application in real business context - embedding leadership behaviors through coaching, peer learning, and business-case preparation.

The focus was not development in isolation - but ensuring leaders could perform in the reality of partner-level expectations.

Stronger partner-level performance. Leaders demonstrated the ability to operate at partner level across leadership, communication, and commercial contexts.
